From: M Petrelis Date: Thu, 30 Apr 1998 13:41:03 EDT Subject: Fwd: Steve Michael update dear friends, good news from wayne turner, steve michael's partner. steve made it through the night and is doing as well as can be expected. wayne was also able to go home for some rest and food. steve remains in the intensive care unit in critical condition. if you would like to send a get well card, a letter, or drawing, perhaps a donation for steve's pro-medical pot initiative on the d.c. ballot, wayne asks that you send it via snail mail to: Steve Michael ACT UP/Washington 408 "H" Street, NE Washington, DC 20002 i told wayne about the messages from some of you expressing your concerns and prayers for steve. wayne was happy to hear folks care and he will tell steve about the emails, if he is conscious. if steve dies of aids, wayne wants people to know that does not mean the death of the ballot effort. indeed, he hopes activists in the d.c. area will redouble their work to pass steve's pro-medical pot proposition. finally, wayne is attempting to send me a g.i.f. of a scanned photo of steve, which he wants trasnmitted over the web. he warned me that the image is ghoulish, but it is steve desire to use his condition to remind us aids is not over. that's it for now. i will post more updates once wayne authorizes me to do so.
