On April 26, 1994 UCLA Chancellor Charles E. Young met with representatives
of campus lesbian/gay/bisexual groups.  The Chancellor agreed to support
course and curricular development in the area of gay/lesbian studies; to fund
$25,000 to provide campus resource services; to contact the US Department of
Defense pressing for change in military treatment of gays and lesbians; and
to discuss same sex domestic partnership benefits at the University of
California Council of Chancellors.
