Located between Santa Monica and Melrose (North and South) and San Vicente and Robertson (East and West) The Festival will be held on the weekend of June 9th, 10th and 11th. This year we will be featuring many 1st rate performers. For the 1st time we will also be featuring a major Latin Venue with a Latin dance area and many Latin performers. Also Heritage House will be returning with several items depicting the history of the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual and Transgender Movement in the Los Angeles/West Hollywood area. There will be many exciting things to see and do. JUNE 9 - 11 2000 Look for All New Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival Under the Banner "Pride, The Next Generation" Festival organizers announced that plans are well under way for the 30th annual Celebration of Pride in West Hollywood. Join 50-60,000 of your friends at this year's event which will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 9th, 10th and 11th. A Special Dance Party is planned for Friday night. On Saturday June 10th the Festival will be open 11:00 AM till midnight, and on Sunday June 11th the gates also open at 11:00 AM. The festival promises a fresh new expanded look. There have been many changes at Christopher Street West offices, and their planning committees are very confident that this year's festival will be much more user friendly. You won't recognize the layout, everything has been rearranged. This is one of the largest pride gatherings in the country and some special surprises are planned for this year's festival. The Parade on Sunday will begin at 11:00 AM sharp. With the help of the West Hollywood Sheriff's Dept. and their professional planning, the step off from Santa Monica and Crescent Heights blvd. should be quick and sure. Parade Liaisons will help insure that the pace is consistent and orderly. The Professionally arranged Main Stage entertainment will feature both local talent and some names we all will know. The Country Dance tent at a new ertainment and local club DJs. Be sure to visit the expanded Disco Dance area and enjoy your favorite local DJs. This year's event will include a latin venue with a latin disco manned by sizzling hot local latin DJ's. This year's exhibitor booths will include many expanded areas and an array of new exhibitors displaying their wares. Of course the food and beverage booths will be open for your enjoyment. Help Make 2000 a Great Pride Celebration: Choose from One of many thousands of Volunteer Shifts. Volunteers are the backbone of any successful organization. Without the help of these dedicated individuals many well-meaning and important community groups would not be able to exist. It is through the efforts of many devoted community spirited supporters that Christopher Street West is able to host one of the largest gay pride festivals in the nation. Now is the time to stand up and be counted. Show support for your community by reserving some time to help us host this huge event. Each year Christopher Street West seeks to expand and improve the festival. Each year requires more and more volunteer assistance. This year with the redesigned festival grounds and the addition of the Friday Night Dance Party, we anticipate that nearly 4,000 volunteer shifts will need to be filled.
