The AP reports that Billy Joe was a transvestite who lived in north Georgia. He was found bloody and badly beaten near a farmhouse outside Cordele, a community of 10,000 in the southwestern part of the state. He died Tuesday in a local hospital. Said Crisp County Sheriff Stacy Bloodworth, "We back-tracked where he had walked down the dirt road and found the crime scene. In the middle of the road were blood and a piece of a baseball bat." It was not reported if police have any leads. A spokesperson for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said robbery or a sex/hate crime were possible motives. ### Subscriptions.
