Dear Editors:

There are many values associated with the numerous
branches of Judaism and Christianity. Responding to
your coverage of gay couples attending their prom
(just like the heterosexual students), Kathleen Du
Haime says in her June 18 letter that this goes
against "Judeo-Christian values" (which many people
understand to include love, justice and equal
treatment of outcasts). In some religious
traditions, working to ensure that all people are
treated equally is a moral/ethical imperative, not a
cause of moral indifference.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and
organizations and 65 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
