Main St. Burley, ID 83318 Dear Editors: On September 6 you published a letter from a writer who used all of the standard anti-minority propaganda arguments: that those who possess the minority characteristic in question are medically inferior, a threat to children, well-educated and wealthy, in control of the media, and generally out of favor with God. As with all propaganda, her arguments are completely unsupported and unsubstantiated. The truth is that people possess a complex combination of characteristics--including language, ethnicity, religion, gender and sexual orientation--and are far too diverse to conform to a single simple definition on the basis of any one characteristic. Sincerely, Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom Interfaith Working Group Coordinators The above letter was sent on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and religious organizations and 63 clergy from 16 religious traditions.
