October 17, 1999 The Salt Lake Tribune PO Box 867 Salt Lake City, UT 84110 Dear Editors: In his October 13 letter, De Lamar Gibbons refers to "the gay-liberal religion," by which he seems to mean a philosophy that supports keeping church and state separate and abortion legal. Gay and liberal people belong to many faiths or no faith at all just like heterosexuals and conservatives. There is a great deal of diversity of opinion among people of faith on the subjects of equal rights for sexual minorities, reproductive freedom, and separation of church and state.
