Dear Editors:

Thank you for Linda Borg's July 10 article about the
lack of legal recognition for the marriages of
same-gender couples. There is something seriously
wrong when the federal government and all state
governments refuse a legal status to some United
States citizens on what appear to be purely religious
grounds, especially when the relationships they
refuse to recognize are blessed in houses of worship
by clergy from a wide range of religious traditions.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and
organizations and 67 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
