Dear Editors:

We were thrilled to read that the New Jersey Supreme
Court justices are taking the sensible, and
constitutionally correct, course of action in James
Dale v. The Boy Scouts of America. It is not the job
of state courts to interpret the phrase "morally
straight." As an organization supported by government
institutions and a diverse group of religious bodies,
it is extremely doubtful that it is the job of the Boy
Scouts of America to do so either.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 16 congregations and
organizations and 60 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
