Dear Editors:

Thank you for your June 8 editorial supporting
religious liberty. Today we learned that a group of
thirteen organizations, including the Christian
Coalition and the American Family Association, are
calling for a boycott of the US Army until Wiccans are
denied their Constitutional right to free exercise on
army bases. Oddly, many of those thirteen
organizations identify themselves as working for
religious liberty. It is nice to have one daily
newspaper in Philadelphia with a reasonable
understanding of the establishment and free exercise
clauses of the First Amendment.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and
organizations and 65 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
