Dear Editors:

We greatly appreciated John McCann's call for
tolerance in his May 12 column, and his acceptance of
the notion of gay Christians. However, Mr. McCann is
ignoring the existence of heterosexual Christians (as
well as people of other faiths) who do not believe
that same-gender sexual relationships are inherently
sinful and who support full participation in their
congregations by sexual minorities.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and
organizations and 61 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
