Dear Editors:

Thank you for your June 7 article about Clifton
United Methodist Church. During the current
theological and political debate over sexual
orientation, the lives of the real people who are
arguing and being argued about are frequently ignored
or glossed over; it was therefore heartening to see
your paper make an honest attempt to report in-depth
on one congregation that has chosen to stand with the
oppressed.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and
organizations and 65 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
