Dear Editors:

Thank you very much for publishing "Invisible
Families." Unfortunately, the current reality is that
many families with same-gender parents are least
likely to find acceptance in houses of worship, a
problem that was entirely overlooked by the writer.
Should the opportunity arise, please let your readers
know that there are positive support groups and
welcoming congregations for gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender people and their families in many
religious traditions. Anyone with access to the World
Wide Web can find more information at
www.libertynet.org/iwg.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and
organizations and 61 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
