Dear Editors:

We are constantly amazed by comments like those from
the pastor in your July 7 story about the Rev. Jimmy
Creech, who said, "we just hope the whole thing will
die and go away." The struggle against oppression
is not some passing fad. Injustice will continue to
live with us until we start treating each other as
equals, regardless of sexual orientation, sexual
identity or any other human condition. As long as
there is injustice there will be people like Jimmy
Creech who refuse to let the rest of us ignore it.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 17 congregations and
organizations and 67 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
