Dear Editors:

In his March 9 letter, Dave Wilson makes a distinction
between gay, lesbian, and bisexual people and
minorities "whose historical persecution was not of
their own making."  The problem with this kind of
rationalization is that those who have persecuted, and
continue to persecute, African Americans, Jews, and
other minorities, have always claimed, as Wilson does
in reference to sexual minorities, that the people
they are persecuting "have no idea of decency and hope
to push their warped views on everyone else."
