The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 12 congregations and
organizations and 56 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

The ACLU has been defending religious liberty and
freedom of religious expression since 1920. The
Family Research Council, on the other hand, put out
press releases criticizing the White House for
inviting Metropolitan Community Church minister Rev.
Troy Perry to the White House because the Council
does not agree with his religious beliefs. Thus, we
were flabbergasted that Steve Schwalm (letter, April
18), who works for the Family Research Council, would
accuse the ACLU of being anti-religious.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
