Dear Editors:

The letters you published in response to the "War
Over Gays" issue were completely devoid of any
religious message of love. There are congregations all
over the country from Christian, Jewish, and other
religious traditions that welcome gay men, lesbians,
bisexuals and their families just as they are, treating
them with love and respect. Unless others follow their
example, the necessary condemnations of hate and
violence will never change society.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 16 congregations and
organizations and 60 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
