Subject: IWG Rapid City SD, response to threatening letter
Date: Fri, 15 May 1998 23:22:54 -0400 (EDT)

The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 12 congregations and
organizations and 56 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editor:

We were shocked by Buck Mergler's May 11 letter. Are
you normally in the habit of printing threatening
letters? Who is this shadowy "us" to whom Mr. Mergler
refers? He believes he will never accept
homosexuality, but that does not mean that sexual
minorities are not gaining widespread acceptance in the
rest of society, especially among people of faith.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
