Dear Editors:

We sincerely hope that "The message which is being
sent to everyone (impressionable young people, most
importantly) is don't bash gays, accept them." And
we also hope that the fact that that sentence looked
like a complaint in Daria Greene's October 28 letter
was the result of either a misprint or bad editing.
If more people, especially young people, get this
message, there will be fewer cases like Matthew
Shepard's, and a little more love and respect in a
world that could use a great deal of both.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom

The above letter went out on IWG letterhead listing 16 congregations and
organizations and 60 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.
