The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 10 congregations and religious
organizations and 41 clergy from 14 faiths and denominations. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

We were generally impressed with Holman W. Jenkins,
Jr.'s reflections on the Disney boycott, especially the
distinction between Disney's products and the way they
treat employees. We also appreciated his call for
cross-cultural understanding, which is becoming even
more necessary as global mass-media technology and its
concentration in the hands of a few corporate giants
like Disney force us to realize just how many
subcultures there are in this country alone. The
Southern Baptist Convention's concentration on domestic
partnership benefits shows that Hollywood needs to
learn more about Southern Baptists, but Southern
Baptists also need to learn about real American
families living outside of Hollywood (many belonging to
Southern Baptist churches) that do not fit the Southern
Baptist definition of family.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
