The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 10 congregations and religious
organizations and 46 clergy from 14 faiths and denominations. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

Thank you for your story about Willis family of Pike
County, Alabama, and their mistreatment by their local
school district because they are Jewish. Their story
is a graphic reminder of what happens when the
constitutional protections of religious minorities are
ignored and public institutions function as houses of
worship in order to satisfy the whims of the majority.
Without a wall between church and state, anyone living
in a town or neighborhood where they are in the
minority risks the same abuse.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
