The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 10 congregations and religious
organizations and 41 clergy from 13 faiths and denominations. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

We were extremely disturbed by the Dr. Laura
Schlessinger column about heterosexism which you ran
in a section purporting to address the concerns of
modern women. Dr. Schlessinger's column was actually
a diatribe against religious beliefs that hold all
loving human relationships in equal regard, and was
based purely on her religious opinion masquerading as
(outdated) science. In short, the column was
medically suspect, religiously offensive, socially
irresponsible and overwhelmingly insulting.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
