The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 10 congregations and religious
organizations and 42 clergy from 14 faiths and denominations. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

We appreciated the diverse and balanced July 5 article
about Christianity and sexual orientation.
Unfortunately, the piece concentrated on passages
usually cited by those who are opposed to same-gender
sexual relationships, neglecting the strength of the
arguments of those who support gender neutrality. Many
Christians feel that this position is amply supported
by the social justice message of the Bible, especially
by Christ, as well as by specific passages such as
Galatians 3:28, which is a favorite of many Christians:
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave
nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are
all one in Christ Jesus."

Sincerely,
