The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 12 congregations and
organizations and 53 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

Since Owen J. Mitchell and Wayne Carter both wrote
letters complaining about militant homosexuals from out
of town, Mr. Mitchell being especially incensed about
those who write letters to your paper, and Mr. Carter
making clear distinctions between homosexuals and
Christians, we thought your readers might like to know
that a) not everyone who writes letters to out-of-town
newspapers to defend sexual minorities is gay and b)
gay rights supporters of all sexual orientations have
many religious orientations, including Christian.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
