The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 11 congregations and religious
organizations and 49 clergy from 14 faiths and denominations. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Christopher Roberts' comments regarding National Coming
Out of Homosexuality Day were a perfectly reasonable
(though highly debatable) summary of majority
conservative Christian beliefs regarding sexual
orientation. However, he claimed that his statement
reflected the beliefs of all Christians, when in fact
there is a diversity of opinion concerning sexual
orientation in Christian churches, and among Christian
laity and clergy. Since his comments appeared in a
publication associated with the same institution as
Rev. Gomes, his overstatement seems especially
ridiculous.
