The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 10 congregations and religious
organizations and 42 clergy from 14 faiths and denominations. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

We agree with Matthew Falcone's July 19 letter.
Criticizing all Christians (or all members of any
group) for the statements made even by a majority of
that group is not right. People can be classified in
many ways, but each person should be treated as an
individual, not just as a member of one subculture.
Unfortunately, many Christians bring this on themselves
by claiming to speak for all Christians, or, even
worse, for all of the world's great religions. Mr.
Falcone does not aid his own cause when he speaks of a
"homosexual lifestyle" (whatever that is). If
Americans spent more time learning about each other's
beliefs and getting to know each other as real people
we might be less inclined to unquestioningly accept and
repeat stereotypes.

Sincerely,
