Dear Editors:

In his September 11 letter Martin Henrichs says he
speaks only as an individual, and not the "leader of an
organized heterosexual group," but then proceeds to
speak on behalf of all heterosexuals and Christians.
Surely Mr. Henrichs recognizes that a growing number of
Christians and other people of faith believe in the
moral equivalence of same-gender relationships and full
legal and religious equality for sexual minorities.
Mr. Henrichs claims he does not hate homosexuals, but
if he is capable of claiming that anyone who loves
people of the same gender is automatically the social
equivalent of a serial killer, drug pusher, child
molester, or thief, then he has clearly not made any
effort to get to know the people he is persecuting.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
