The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 12 congregations and
organizations and 53 clergy from 15 religious traditions. If you are in
the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious
organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths
are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in
other areas.

Dear Editors:

Since the Catholic League recently objected to the use
of Penn State display space for a Catholic student's
artistic expression of her faith, it was fascinating
to note that the League is using Judge Lewis
Quadrangle to display a nativity scene. The conflicts
inherent in the free exercise, free speech, and
establishment clauses of the first amendment present
an eternal judicial challenge, but it would be nice if
every group with an opinion was at least as consistent
as the Jewish Community Relations Council, and as
conscious of the social issues involved.

Sincerely,
Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom
