If you are in the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in other areas. Visit the web page at http://www.libertynet.org/~iwg/. November 5, 1996 Tulsa World Box 1770 Tulsa, OK 74102 Dear Editors: We enjoyed your editorial against bringing anti-gay issues into political races, especially the call for tolerance, and your obvious appreciation for the importance of church-state separation. However, we have to disagree with your statement that "homosexuality is indeed condemned in the Old and New Testaments." It might have been reasonable to state that this is something that "a majority of Christians believe," but this question is regularly and hotly debated in seminaries, congregations, and denominational meetings. Every year more Christians and Jews decide that such interpretations are the products of misinformed, poorly executed, outdated scholarship. The Tulsa World is a secular newspaper, not a house organ for conservative Christians. Even in your editorials you should carefully note the difference between facts and public perception.
