Subject: IWG Totenberg letter Date: Fri, 24 May 1996 22:58:03 -0400 (EDT) From: Chris Purdom The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 2 congregations, 4 religious organizations and 24 clergy from 10 faiths and denominations. If you are in the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in other areas. We do not hold either to be a cause of revulsion or a symptom of sexual permisiveness, but rather small steps toward the just and moral society which God expects of us, in which the gift of mutual love is celebrated regardless of gender. National Public Radio has a well-deserved reputation for fair and objective report-ing of which you are no small part. Your obvious discomfort with this rapidly growing religious minority does not help that image. Sincerely, Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom Interfaith Working Group Coordinators
