Subject: IWG Time Letter Date: Wed, 17 Jul 1996 23:45:32 -0400 (EDT) From: Chris Purdom The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 2 congregations, 5 religious organizations and 32 clergy from 11 faiths and denominations. If you are in the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in other areas. However, his essay depends completely on the idea that the majority of the American people find heterosexuality and homosexuality morally unequal. Polls show that there is greater support for same-sex marriage in younger people; and many religious denominations have already declared their support. Same-sex marriage will become a legal reality in our lifetimes. The question is whether to continue discriminatory practices until the majority wakes up, or do the right and just thing and correct the legal definition now.
