If you are in the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in other areas. Visit the web page at http://www.libertynet.org/~iwg/. November 5, 1996 Caroline Miller, Editor-in-Chief Seventeen 850 Third Avenue New York, NY 10022 Dear Ms. Miller: Thank you very much for publishing "It's Who I Am." Positive visibility for queer youth in a mainstream youth-oriented magazine like Seventeen can do nothing but good. Unfortunately the current reality is that many non- heterosexual teenagers receive the most negative reinforcement in their houses of worship, a problem that was omitted entirely from the article. Should the opportunity arise, please let your readers know that there are positive support groups and welcoming congregations for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth in every faith and denomination in the country. Anyone with access to the World Wide Web can find more information at our web site: http://www.libertynet.org/~iwg/. Thank you again.
