Subject: David Boldt Again Date: Fri, 19 Jan 1996 10:15:34 -0500 (EST) From: Chris Purdom David Boldt, the Philadelphia Inquirer columnist who champions Alan Keyes, forced indoctrination in Catholicism, and literacy tests for voting, explains today that men vote Republican because they're better informed than women (based on a Pew study in which men and women were tested on current events, and the men won, regarless of other factors). Apparantly he asked some women why this might be, and was told they had more important things to worry about. Mr. Boldt interprets this to mean cooking dinner and taking care of kids. There is of course, no data indicating a correlation between the level of knowledge and voting patterns except a broad trend within gender on both, nor that the facts people were quizzed on had any correlation to the proposed policies of the Republicans, or that being "better informed" is the same as being able to consider a problem rationally. Whether Mr. Boldt is well informed is still up in the air; whether he can think clearly has been demonstrated negatively for over a year. As usual, comments on Mr. Boldt's substantially fuzzy thinking can be sent to editpage@aol.com.
