Subject: IWG Delaware County Daily Times Date: Fri, 10 May 1996 22:17:04 -0400 (EDT) From: Chris Purdom The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 2 congregations, 4 religious organizations and 23 clergy from 9 faiths and denominations. If you are in the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in other areas. Mr. Spencer misses the obvious point that many homosexuals are unhappy because people like him keep telling them that there is something wrong with them. The experts Mr. Spencer consulted belong to a small group of scientists who place their scriptural interpretations before scientific truth; they are not credible in the scientific community at large, which rejects their claims. Mr. Spencer is the one who could use counseling. What sexual minorities need is equal civil rights and the knowledge that God loves them as they are. Sincerely, Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom Interfaith Working Group Coordinators
