Dear Editors:

Thank you for Debbie Woodell's  excellent column about
the state of Utah  illegally attempting to prevent the
creation of a school club for gay and straight
students to discuss sexual orientation issues.  What
the column fails to mention, however, is the speed
with which one Salt Lake City school used the new law
to also ban the African-American and Hispanic-American
clubs.  Discrimination is like censorship; once you
open the door to it, there's no limit to the damage it
can do.
