Subject: Daily News anti-Right editorial Date: Wed, 17 Jan 1996 21:33:08 -0500 (EST) From: Chris Purdom The Philadelphia Daily News ran an editorial called "Hating thy neighbor". Reasonably short. Quotes Jerry Falwell "If we do not act now homosexuals will own America" The bit from Jamie Nabozny's principal about boys being boys. A line from Promise Keepers I hadn't seen before: "Black and white Christians can get together and bring the kingdom of God in the name of heaven if we can stop the sodomites". Discusses the need for a "B-Chip" for blocking out bigotry. Mentions the People for the American Way report, and the 180 anti-gay incidents. Wonders why Louis Farrakhan wasn't mentioned. Talks about the murder of abortion doctors, the Oklahoma bombing and the fire in Harlem as the result of hate speech. Suggests that those who rail against the corruption of movies, television, and the internet should spend more time condeming hate speech. All in all, a very nice editorial. Compliments should go to dnedit@aol.com.
