Subject: IWG Chicago Tribune Letter (resend) Date: Mon, 20 May 1996 22:26:20 -0400 (EDT) From: Chris Purdom Apologies to anyone getting this twice, but the original seems to have ended up in the bitbucket. The following went out on IWG letterhead listing 2 congregations, 4 religious organizations and 24 clergy from 10 faiths and denominations. If you are in the general Philadelphia area and represent a congregation or religious organization or are clergy, let us know if you want to be added - all faiths are welcome. We will also be happy to help start similar organizations in other areas. Michigan Avenue Chicago, IL 60611 Dear Editor: Linda Bowles (May 15 column) is laboring under a number of peculiar delusions: that there is a conflict between non-heterosexual orientation and religious belief; that God is homophobic; that all gay-rights activists are homosexual; and that sexual activity based on mutual attraction between consenting adults of the same sex is morally and psychologically equivalent to sex with inanimate objects, animals, or children. In no way does she establish what any of this has to do with the legalization of civil same-sex marriage. Sincerely, Barbara Purdom Christopher Purdom Interfaith Working Group Coordinators
