Mel White Arrested at Pat's Mel White Arrested in Virginia Beach Date: 14 Feb. 95 The following post was found on soc.motss by Ann Carlson a.b.carlson@larc.nasa.gov ======================================== I just got back from Regent Univ. where Mel White was arrested for trying to make an appointment to meet with Pat Robertson. I was one of 12 or 13 area religious leaders who went with Mel (and the media) onto the campus and into the main administrative building. We were met at the entrance to the grounds of the campus by Gene Capp -- the Robertson spokesperson, who told us that Pat was out of town but was not interested in meeting with us, ever. They said we were allowed to go wherever the public was usually allowed to go on campus, so we went to the admin building where there is also a bookstore -- Mel even bought a copy of the book he wrote for Pat (America's Dates With Destiny). The receptionist told us that Pat's receptionist was at lunch, so we decided to wait until she returned to try to make an appointment with Pat. But they told us we could not. Mel asked the rest of us to leave and he stayed and got arrested for trying to see Pat. What happens from here will depend on whether they make him to remain in prison or whether he is released. =========================== Re-typed by BoiseBear@aol.com ===========================
