Hilary Clinton, perjurer Family Issues Alert celebrates the beginning of Hilary Clinton's 10-city tour promoting, "It Takes a Village: And Others Lessons Children Teach Us" by quoting Sam Donaldson who says that Whitewater "has escalated to the kind of crisis tht could very well threaten Bill Clinton's presidency" and Sen. Alfonse D'Amato (R,NY) who says "Withholding the truth by saying one doesn't remember critical events can constitute dishonesty and perjury." D'Amato chairs the Senate committee investigating Whitewater. FIA wants people to urge their senators and representatives to insist that Hillary Clinton is subpoenaed to testify before the House and Senate Whitewater committees. Last Sunday, Rep. William Clinger Chair of the House Whitewater Committee, and George Will were on "This Week With David Brinkley." FIA quotes them both. The "Key Point" is "Questions about the First Lady's honesty and integrity undermine her position as role model." B. CBS platform for "homosexual expert" Bob Knight Bob Knight's name will become a household word. He will be a major RR spokesperson in the campaign against equal rights in marriage. Knight is with Gary Bauer's Family Research Council which used to be a part of Focus on the Family, but split off due to tax-exemption issues. FOF and FRC, tweedledum and tweedledee. This week FIA is crowing that FRC scored a major media coup by having Knight on CBS News' "Eye on America" segment. Knight was not there talking about same-sex marriage, but making assertions about fraud in the Kinsey studies. The "Key Point" is that Congress should investigate this and the action item is directed toward the media who should contact Bob Knight for an interview. The FOF offers a video - see resources list. C. Sex ed battles in Massachusetts and Nebraska FIA says parents lost in Massachusetts but won in Nebraska. The US Supreme Court refused to hear the Massachuseets court decision which gives schools authority "to hand out condoms to children against parents' wishes" - is how FIA puts it. In Omaha the state public health department "apologized to parents for handing out condoms to high school students." Caveat: quoted phrases indicate the language that FOF is using to push its message. FIA Summary has no information on the facts of the cases. This article goes on to give some statistics which are intended to make the reader conclude that condoms don't work. FOF offers a document - see resource list. D. News Briefs 1. Paula Jones sexual-harrassment suit against Clinton FOF is happy because a judge in St. Louis did not decide to delay or dismiss Jones' suit against Clinton until he leaves office. 2. Larry King - Republican candidates live On CNN, Saturday, Jan. 13 - live from Iowa. 3. Rep. Linda Smith (R,WA) says to pray for the freshmen Smith says the freshmen are under tremendous pressure as they deal with the budget and related issues. Prayer requests are a consistent pattern in FIA. I usually don't report them, but I suppose these action requests are an important element of RR campaigns. Do doubt books have been written about it, or at least doctoral dissertations. E.
