Date: Mon, 6 Mar 1995 18:38:21 -0600 From: Kevyn Jacobs To: Multiple recipients of list GLB-NEWS Subject: Gay Brothers Sought by NIH for study [SEND ALL RESPONSES TO: GQZ@CU.NIH.GOV ALL RESPONSES SENT TO THE LIST WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU.] Gay men with one or more gay brothers are invited to participate in a study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. We do DNA studies of each chromosome region, looking initially for regions where gay brothers tend to share the same genes. Our goal is to locate one or more genes which increase the probability of a man having same-sex sexual orientation. Identification of such genes will give us important insight into the basis of normal variation in this important aspect of human behavior. Elliot S. Gershon, M.D. Judith A.
