...     You might be interested to know that United Way of the
        North Bay (north of San Francisco: Sonoma, Mendocino and
        Lake Counties) has adopted a non-discrimination policy
        which specifically mentions sexual orientation and
        HIV status)  I called them to ask about the Boy Scouts
        and they sounded like they hadn't figured out what 
        to do about that yet.

        I got the impression that their main intent was to
        require grantees to conform to California's new law
        prohibiting discrimination in employment based on
        sexual orientation, which was passed last year.
