Members work at companies including Adobe, Aldus, America Online, Apple, Borland, Cisco, Dantz, DEC, Farallon, General Magic, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, IDG, Intel, Lotus, Microsoft, Nolo, Oracle, Quark, SGI, Sun, SuperMac, 3DO, WordPerfect, and Ziff-Davis. About Frameline Frameline, the oldest and largest independent lesbian and gay media arts organization in the world, is dedicated to the distribution, exhibition, promotion, archiving and funding of lesbian and gay-made film and video. Its signature event is the annual San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, now in its 18th year. Frameline has also sponsored festivals in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Washington, D.C., and is also the premier independent distributor of L/G/B media in North America. New Programs in 1994 o International- Frameline will produce the first-ever lesbian & gay film festivals in Delhi and Bombay, India, continuing its worldwide outreach. o Home Video- In June, the Lesbian and Gay Cinema Collection will debut on videocassette, making L/G/B media available in suburban and rural areas. o Media Archives- 1994 also will inaugurate Frameline's archive, containing films, tapes, posters, stills, catalogs and clippings on lesbian and gay material dating back to the 1930s. This service is open to programmers, writers, students and researchers. o Expanded Festival Sites- The festival will add additional South Bay and East Bay play dates, and two additional days in San Francisco. Why This Benefit Party Will Change Frameline's Life While attendance has more than doubled in the last two years, infrastructure has not kept up with the increased workload. Today, the staff has to fight over three ancient PCs and two loud, creaky Macs. DQ's beauty makeover for Frameline will provide: o a Macintosh computer for every desk (12) o a network with workhorse laser printing, e-mail, and file server. o a new multimedia, multi-user database for film/video distribution and archiving o digital video editing and desktop publishing workstations. o a national online forum for distribution to reach underserved communities Your donations of cash, software, or hardware will enable Frameline to add new programs, become more productive, and save money and time. Please give as generously as you can. Feel free to bring software or hardware directly to the benefit.
