My name is Greg Cole and I'm writing on behalf of an organization that I belong to called CHEER DALLAS. The president of this organization is Ken Jorns. We would like to be included on the list of lists of regional and national organizations on the QRD. We are a non-profit organization. We are a gay & lesbian cheerleading squad in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of Texas. We do not discriminate, however, and also welcome gay-friendly persons to try out for the squad. We were formed the year prior to the Gay Games in NY City to be a cheer squad for Team Dallas at the games. We went on to participate in Texas at gay pride parades and charitable events. The latest event was the G&L business expo in NewYork. Current events we are scheduled for are: Dallas Gay Pride Parade Sept. 21 Life Walk Oct. 2 National Coming Out Day Oct. 8 Nat. G&L Business Expo in Long Beach Cal. Nov. 4-5 World AIDS Day Nov 30 - Dec. 2 Following is an excerpt from our bylaws: The purposes of Cheer Dallas are [a] to support local, state, national, and international athletic cometition and participation in other community services and events, [b] exclusively to do such other charitable and/or education purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the internal Revenue Code of 1986. [c] to exercise all powers given to a corporation organized under the Texas Non-profit Corporation Act, as presently existing or hereafter amended. Members: Membership is open to any interested individual, 18 years of age or older [a] with experience in cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, or who has a desire to learn the above or [b] who is interested in the coordination, management, creative or financial phases of the Corporation.
