The 1994 American Political Science Association NY MEETINGS! The meetings will be at the NY Hilton and Sheraton hotels, 8/31-9/4. Program for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Political Science Caucus [Note that in addition to the many wonderful political scientists and our sibling social scientists, Tony Kushner will be joining for a roundtable on Stonewall 50 on September 2] 1. The Lewis/Hirsch Caucus Suite To lower the costs of socializing in the Big Apple and to facilitate Caucus interactions, Greg Lewis and Len Hirsch have taken a suite at the Sheraton which will be open from 5pm-11:30pm Wednesday through Saturday evenings* for drinks, munchies and celebration (will be called the Caucus Suite in what follows). We will provide a bar and light finger food in this smoke-free, but hopefully fun-filled environment. To cover the costs of the refreshments and the additional cost for the suite, there will be an honor system contribution jar. Please feel free to come and use the Caucus Suite. *The suite will be closed from 8pm on Thurday for the Sherrill/Otte dinner (see page 2.) 2. The Program Wednesday, August 31, 1994 5PM: The Caucus Suite opens 7PM: HIV+ Support Group, Wednesday at 7, place to be announced (look for signs on the message board or in the Caucus Suite). At the request of several Caucus members, we have decided to include a support group meeting for HIV+ individuals and those who are taking care of HIV+ people. While many of us have access to such support groups at home, we do not usually get a chance to speak of these issues with our professional colleagues about the ways in which HIV+ conditions affect our professional lives. This support group is organized to help break this silence. Thursday September 1 10:45 (Hilton-Sutton North) Stonewall 25: Recent Developments in Gay and Lesbian Movements and Communities Gregory B.
