St. at 7th. Avenue Our regular monthly meeting and social at the Center. We will be having a guest speaker, Cecilia Marcus, from Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (P-FLAG) who will be speaking about her experiences working with parents of gay children. We will then discuss some of the issues involved in creating a P-FLAG brochure and support network for South Asian parents. $3 suggested donation. After the meeting, we'll be going out to dinner at 7 p.m. to Indian Taj in Jackson Heights, Queens after which Arif and Zahid are throwing a party at their apartment. St. at 7th. Avenue Representatives from the Irish Lesbian and Gay Organization (ILGO) will speak about their long and difficult battle to march in the St. Patrick's Day parades in Boston and in NYC. The lawsuit filed in Boston will be heard in the U. S. Supreme Court in April where it is expected to lose due to the Court's current conservative stance. We will also exchange strategies on how to deal with the Federation of India Associations (FIA) in our continuing efforts to march at the India Day Parade. $3 suggested donation. ------------------------------------------------------------ The South Asian Lesbian and Gay Association (SALGA) is a social and political group for lesbians, bisexuals, and gay men who trace their descent from countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, Guyana, India, Kenya, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tibet, Trinidad & Tobago, and Uganda.
