PFLAG national and the National Coalition Building Institute [NCBI]
Washington, DC Metro Chapter invite you to participate in a one day
PREJUDICE REDUCTION WORKSHOP Leadership Training Institute [LTI], on
Friday, October 11, 1996!


PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
This one-day NCBI Prejudice Reduction Workshop is an introduction to a
unique training program which:
*empowers individuals to combat various forms of discrimination,
*facilitate resolution of polarized conflicts based on prejudice, and
*develop intergroup coalitions.

This will be an experiential, participatory, workshop pioneered by the
National Coalition Building Institute [NCBI] dealing with issues of
diversity including race, class, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual
orientation, physical difference, etc.  In a positive, empowering manner,
participants will be led through a series of activities to achieve the
following goals:

*identify and work through stereotypes and misinformation we have about our
own and other groups;
*share and reclaim pride in one's own background and build bridges with
other groups;
*hear about the various ways different groups experience discrimination and
mistreatment;
*learn about the personal impact of specific incidents of discrimination and;
*learn to effectively intervene when confronted with prejudicial jokes,
slurs, and comments.


FEE:
The PREJUDICE REDUCTION WORKSHOP Leadership Training Institute [LTI], a
full day training including lunch with a keynote speaker, is only $75 for
PFLAG and non-PFLAG members, while a second PFLAG Chapter Member from the
same Chapter is only $55.


WHAT ELSE:
Join other PFLAG members and leaders from across the country at our 15th
Annual Conference in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, October
11-14,1996.
