Jeff and George: *Fulfilled Affiliation requests and information per above locations in order to serve current and potential affiliates and state councils towards developing the vehicles and infrastructure for PFLAG's common mission and Ends; *Supported and secured 14 of 15 regions served by a Regional Director, in order to provide local, quality connection and service for PFLAG Affiliates; *Reviewed and made minor revisions to the affiliation process and documents in order to make it even more friendly and accessible for people who wish to join and keep updated with the PFLAG family. *Completed follow-up to annual conference requests and general follow-up and "recovery", in order to fulfill requests and re-assemble for back-dated projects and future plans; *Scheduled and met with Sandra and the Management Team about their decisions regarding production of new Special Outreach Networking and Internal Networking Directories: -produce Internal and distribute to Affiliates -produce and make available by request the SON Directory, in order to assure those that use it, receive an updated copy and to save paper and resources from those who do not currently; -explore possibilities and potential resources of SONs in order to deliver on PFLAG Ends; *Updated Internal Networking Directories and produced reports for Quarterly Affiliate Update, in order for PFLAG Leaders and staff to have an easy, up-to-date directory of other leaders for communication, technical assistance and ideas; *Worked with Julie on ideas for integrating FSD databases to be relational in order to make input quicker, assure quality data entry, and insure integrity of the data; *Planned January 1997 RDC meeting agenda with training, open forum and RD development towards Ends, and secured site and travel; *Discussed with Nancy McDonald, President, -field training opportunities and schedule of travel, in order to coordinate staff and volunteer trainings and visits, -planned for Matusak book to be jointly developed into a training program towards Ends; *Met with Karyn about first edition of FY 96-97Tips & Tactics for ideas, resource people and practical application for Leaders, and assisted in content editing, in order to assure PFLAG leaders will be profiled and that tips presented will be accessible; *Prepared for first Quarterly Leadership Update of FY 96-97, in order to assure quality control and timely delivery of product to the field; *Worked with RDC Program Delivery Committee on the Chapter Development handbook, in order to put into words the oral technical assistance available from RDs and staff; *Worked with Zoe and Jeffrey on training program for FY96-97 and developed 3 training modules in order to meet the needs of the field, RDs, and the Ends; *Worked with Tony on departmental co-planning and transition pieces to Member Services for 96-97, including transition of Membership Development Partnership Pilot Project and Chapter Membership rosters December project, in order to insure proper distribution of workload and concurrent understanding of who is responsible for what project/piece; *Met with Karyn about PFLAG, white privilege, and People of Color articles for Tips & Tactics, and updating the LTI Prejudice Reduction handbook, in order to meet Ends of creating safe spaces for People of Color; *Planned workshop for Creating Changes with John Spear of GLSTN, in order to demonstrate inter-organizational commitment and cooperation, as well as provide training for PFLAGers and allies of PFLAG; *Updated the RD Handbooks in order for RDs to have the most up-to-date tools they need to do their good work; *Reviewed RDC minutes and distributed in order to have an account of the RDC's progress and plans; *Held weekly departmental meetings in order to check in with professional and personal progress, especially in light of Jeff's recent addition to the staff; *Met several times with Sally Morse via telephone about RDC and field related matters in order to insure communication of concerns, needs and kudos of field and staff, and to provide technical assistance in particular areas showing need; *Met with several new RDs via telephone for orientation and information sharing in order to connect RDs to PFLAG Field Services, national staff and resources, to one another and to equip them to serve the field; *Attended staff retreat in order to improve staff relations and development towards delivering services to the membership; *Alerted field and RDs to due date for Regional Notes inclusion, to insure as many affiliates as possible are included; *Informed by Rob of new Regional Notes process to be included in next Quarterly Update, in order to manage flow of information, highlight Affiliates' great work, and provide Members with a sampling of PFLAG's grassroots work towards accomplishing the Ends; *Met with PFLAG Westchester and sent follow up information to her in order to meet with Members and provide technical assistance, feedback and support for great work happening in her area; *Attended and displayed at Bell Atlantic Diversity Day event in northern Virginia with Stephanie, in order to demonstrate to potential PFLAGers our presence, commitment and creation of safe spaces; *Worked with Kelvin to equip new RDs with long distance calling tools in order that RDs may keep in contact with their Leaders and PFLAG national; *Coordinated fax machine transfers from retired to new RDs in order that RDs may keep in contact with their Leaders and PFLAG national; *Ordered PIDI At-large Member lists and prepared "how-to" kit for Jerry of Southern Region, Sandy Lane of NM, and coordinated with PFLAG Coalition of CO Chapters, in order that At-large members may be apprised of local PFLAG affiliates and equip Chapters with the tools to recruit and retain these At-large Members into their Chapters; *Met with Judy about PFLAG Boston and area Chapters in order to facilitate communication of structure, 501(c)3 and future plans for Chapters in the greater Boston area; *Met with potential IL state council coordinator with Sally via telephone, in order to assess awareness, needs and plans for a State Council; *Attended PFLAG national Board fundraising training, in order to inter-act with the Board and glean skills and knowledge to pass on to non-Board RDs and field leaders; *Developed The "PAL Outreach Program", in order to pro-actively connect the Potential Affiliate Leaders [PALs] with PFLAG Field Services to develop a positive, productive and friendly relationship. In summary FSD will send: * PAL updates via email to RD [as Jeff receives a request] * PAL updates via US Post mail to RD [as a monthly compilation= ] * RD calls to complete Leadership Development Call within 3 - 4 weeks of receiving PAL Update via email. * FSD calls PAL within 3-5 weeks of sending the Affiliation K= it. *Accepted and handled more than 50 calls a week, more than 200 emails a week, in addition to in-office visits, faxes, and mail, in order to communicate and stay connected to the membership; *George was out for two weeks for federal jury duty and for 7 days for annual leave during this period.
