NEWS UPDATE

Here is a heads up about some upcoming PFLAG-related national media
appearances:

A wonderful PFLAG family is scheduled to appear live on NBC's Today Show
tomorrow (July 22nd, Wednesday). Jan and Sam Allen will be speaking on the
New York City-based television morning show about the experiences and
challenges regarding their teen-aged son attending school in Oklahoma.

In addition, keep your eye out for a column which is slated to appear in
tomorrow's New York Times by columnist Frank Rich who has been in contact
with several individuals, including Doug Upchurch of Texas, who has spoken
out quite articulately about so-called reparative therapy, and Mary
Griffith of California, who is the subject of the well-known book, Prayers
for Bobby, written by Leroy ("Roy") Aarons, founder of the National Lesbian
and Gay Journalists Association.
