Beware!

There is a con artist that is preying on sympathetic
PFLAGgers with big hearts. He goes by several aliases but the most used is
John Adams. His story is that he came out to his parents, that he is HIV +
and needs some money to tie him over for food, hotel, or bus fare to get to
some supportive friend. Please do not offer to give him money. He will
immediately back off if you offer to pay for his hotel directly or take him
out for dinner. He wants the cold hard cash.

So please, if you hear a similar story do not offer cash. There are lots of
organizations out there who offer services for people who are HIV +. These
services range from a place to spend the night to meals.
