General Description The Management of Information Systems Director will have responsibilities in three main areas. NETWORK MANAGEMENT * Manage the information systems, including workstation hardware, software, network infrastructure for entire staff including field offices. * Maintain the security and integrity of all systems and network infrastructure. * Develop and manage data back-up systems and archiving of pertinent information. * Make changes to computer network environment, including adding new users, removing old users, and addressing changing working environment. troubleshoot computer equipment problems. Maintain a log of computer repairs and maintenance. * Integrate new computer purchases into network. * Develop and maintain system of remote access for use by staffers on road, in field offices, or working from home, including related security issues. * Ensure that NGLTF makes proper use of its computer resources through review of current procedures and actions. * Implement training schedule to update staff on recent changes and improvements in efficiency that can be realized. * Be responsible for documentation for use in training sessions or stand-alone use. * Prepare and oversee annual technology budget, including specifying purchases and upgrades. DATABASE ADMINISTRATION * Establish plan and timeline to consolidate number of databases and standardize information while still maintaining high level of functionality. * Design system of controls around databases which limit user's ability to accidentally change or to inappropriately change information while still allowing general access to information. * Develop systems to monitor quality and accuracy of data input. * Working with outside list management company, oversee the design of reports and queries which provide relevant information to the organization. provide technical support for proprietary list management software to staff. * Develop feasibility report and strategies to bring outside database system in-house within two years. * Develop and manage new strategies around dissemination of information utilizing new technology while working within budget parameters. WORLD WIDE WEB MAINTENANCE * Oversee technical operations of the NGLTF website. * Provide training to appropriate staffmember(s) to ensure uninterrupted operation of website in absence of MIS Director. OTHER DUTIES * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * 5 years IS experience, database, and web experience * Experience in supporting MAC and PC software (MAC O/S, Windows 98/NT, MS Office, Filemaker Pro, Quark Express, Adobe) * EXCHANGE Server experience a plus * Knowledge of and commitment to working in a non-profit organization setting * Excellent oral and writing skills. * Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsible self-starter. * Ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment. * Demonstrated experience working in a multi-cultural environment where commitment to diversity based on race, ethnic origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical ability is an important institutional value.
